Plans Submitted For New Aldi Supermarket

Monday April 14 2014

Aldi Aldi

LONG-AWAITED plans to build a new Aldi supermarket in Royston have been submitted.

Following public consultation, a planning application was submitted to Barnsley Council to build on the site.

Coun Tim Cheetham said: "I'm happy that Aldi are planning to build in Royston. The consultation went down really well with residents - hardly anyone was against the plans.

"The developers have even agreed to build a pedestrian crossing to make the road safer. Aldi has co-operated and took into consideration what the community want."
