Couple Raise Money For Hospital In Son's Memory

Wednesday March 12 2014

A COUPLE from Worsbrough have raised £1,257 for Barnsley Hospital Charity in memory of their son.

In August 2012 Jonathan and Rachel Boldy's son, Kai, was sadly stillborn. To keep his memory alive and help other grieving families, they set up Kai's Tiny Wings.

The appeal aims to raise awareness of stillbirth and raised funds for the newly refurbished 'Rainbow Room' on the hospital's children's ward.

The room - which is solely reserved for bereaved parents - enables them to spend time with their child thanks to the use of cold cots.

Jonathan and Rachel raised the amount at a recent mediumship evening with Pietro Politano which was held at Ardsley House and through a live music event in the summer.

Katie Cartwright, fundraising manager at the hospital, said: "We can't thank Jonathan and Rachel enough. The money will help other bereaved families through a difficult time."
