Former Miner Jailed For Two Years

Friday March 14 2014

AN EX-MINER has been jailed for two years for failing to disclose information about his finances in the 12 months before claiming bankruptcy.

Sheffield Crown Court was told that Anthony Kellett, 54, of Willow Grove, Dodworth, failed to disclose more than £30,000 in cash and was not able to account for more than £90,000 leaving his bank account in the 12 months prior to claiming bankruptcy.

He stated he had no assets and had been unemployed and in receipt of benefits for a number of years.

But within weeks he was the victim of an armed robbery, during which a holdall containing £33,160 in cash was stolen from him.

The police intercepted the robbers and recovered the cash which they retained under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Kellett alleged the money was loaned to him post-bankruptcy by relatives but they were unwilling or unable to provide statements or documentary evidence to the police.

As Kellett provided no further explanation, he remains an undischarged bankrupt and was sentenced to a two-year jail term by Judge Peter Kelson QC.

Deputy chief investigating officer Mike Williams, said: "This sentence is a reminder to other potential offenders that in bankruptcy, there are severe penalties for failing to provide a full and honest disclosure to the official receiver."

Get him questioned about drugs and check all his families accounts. He may have someone holding the drugs so the law need to watch his movements and calls in prison. Think he may try to contact a person to get rid of the drugs and stash the cash for when he gets out of prison. WATCH HIM CLOSELY.

How can you comment on a person you do not know. You must have a sad life to have the time to make comments on something that has nothing to do with you
