PLANNING permission for nine new council houses has been approved.

Councillors voted unanimously in favour of allowing two new houses at Highstone Road and three at Kenworthy Road, both in Worsbrough Common, as well as four houses at Meadow View Close, Hoyland.

A Berneslai Homes spokesman said: "We can confirm that we are building the new homes on Kenworthy Road, Highstone Road and Meadow View Close for council rent.

"The total investment is estimated to be £1.5 million and we have an ongoing programme to build up to 110 new council homes including these, with a total level of £12m investment in the next few years."
