Competition Launched To Name New Beer

Tuesday March 4 2014

NATURE conservation organisation the RSPB and Barnsley's Acorn Brewery have launched a competition to name a new beer.

The collaboration, created to help the bittern, one of the country's most threatened birds, will see the brewery donate 5p from every pint sold to create homes for the birds.

Acorn Brewery manager David Broadhead said: "The Old Moor reserve is very close to the brewery and what the team down there have accomplished is fantastic.

"We're looking forward to getting some interesting beer names and ultimately helping the bittern conservation project."

The winner will get to help brew beer at the Acorn Brewery and to draw the first pint of the new beer at the Old No 7 pub in Barnsley.

Let's hear your suggestions! You can enter the competition by clicking here.
