SIXTEEN senior education officials from India visited two Barnsley schools as part of a fact-finding trip.

Hosted by the British Council, the officials visited the town to learn more about a range of school issues including teacher training, quality and standards, and the role and impact of inspection body Ofsted.

The delegates - who are responsible for the education of more than 500 million pupils - visited Darton College and Worsbrough Common Primary School.

How very strange. All I hear are bad reports about our schools. Why would they come here? I for one am hoping things are going to change before my grandson goes to Shafton ALC. It would be nice to see what they thought about our schools. Again..why Barnsley? Our schools are reported to be the worst in the land arnt they? I'm bewildered.

That is rather odd. Surely what they will see is depravity in the education system. Shoddy reports. Again the GOVERNMENT is to blame. I say repeatedly stop sending billions overseas and pump money into our own education system, hospitals. councils. AND PROVE to the people it has been done. CHARITY begins at home.
