Reds Denied By Late Comeback

THE Reds surrendered a two-goal lead on Saturday as Ipswich scored twice in the last ten minutes to claim a point.

Barnsley took the lead in the 12th minute thanks to Chris O'Grady's clever solo effort, before Tomasz Cywka scored a trademark free-kick which looked to have wrapped the points up with just 15 minutes to go.

However, Mick McCarthy's on-form play-off chasers halved their deficit with 81 minutes played, before David McGoldrick's powerful free-kick sealed a point for the visitors.

"I'm frustrated rather than disappointed," Barnsley manager Danny Wilson said. "I think we had our backs to the wall for long periods and the wind took its toll, just like it helped us in the first half.

"The performance wasn't disappointing; it was just a little bit frustrating at times. We defended too deep and instead of taking a forward step, we took a backward step and that helped them."

Next up for the Reds is a South Yorkshire derby away at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

Rubbish once again from Wilson - at 2-0 it should have been game set and match. Is negative tactics have cost us AGAIN. What he was thinking playing that waste of space (O'brien) is beyond me .. RUBBISH !! Well done Wilson for taking us down ! I'll never watch another game down at well, whilst ever he's in charge. !

Wilson's comments in the above article demonstrate how tactically naive he is .... Poor once again from Danny

A can't believe Danny's blaming the wind ! FFS ! It's like what my Sunday league manager says ... "Dunt worry lads we've got the wind with us this half"!!

I'm afraid that Danny's negative tactics are costing us in every match.
