Thieves Ransack Free Meals Shop

Thieves target free meals shop Thieves target free meals shop

A WOMAN who has donated free meals to those in need had her shop ransacked and charity cash stolen by thieves.

Burglars broke into Sara's Flowers and Teas, on Pitt Street, on January 24. Owner Sara Headley arrived at work only to discover her shop's door had been kicked in.

On further inspection, she noticed a £30 float was missing, along with cash and food donations. Even staff members' coats were gone.

Sara, who takes part in a coffee and meals scheme where customers pay for an extra drink or meal so it can be given to someone in need, was 'devastated' by the break-in.

She said: "I don't know why they would do it. If they needed food or help they could have just come into the shop and asked."

Police confirmed enquiries are ongoing.

Serious scum whoever's done this, let's hope they are caught and their thieving hands are chopped off. Keep up the good work Sara. And Top Secretary seriously the only comment you leave is on punctuation and spelling. Maybe you should look at your comment and start a sentence with a capital letter?

What an awful thing to have happened.
I was not aware that Sara's operated this scheme, but If, after this set back, she is continuing it i will definitely be nipping in from now on.
A very valuable service she is offering and it needs expanding. Will be spreading the word to friends and encouraging them to go in and pay a drink/food on!
I hope this set back doesn't deter your kind work Sara! X

Nice to see people helping the less fortunate, bad seeds in human nature unfortunately, sometimes prevail. I hope the scheme will be resumed as many people are in need.

Such a shame, I have been in this cafe a few times and the staff who work there are lovely people. I had no idea that they were working for such a good cause as well as serving beautiful home made food. I hope they havn't been too disheartened by these mindless thugs.

This is really awful but I really hope it doesn't put them off doing the great things they are doing, let's not let the people who spoil it win!
