Cannon Hall Farm Announce Expansion Plans

Monday February 3 2014

CANNON Hall Farm is set to create 35 more jobs after announcing ambitious expansion plans.

The £1.4m overhaul will see a  800-capacity indoor play area added,  plus 300-seater restaurant and classroom facilities.

The move is expected to create 35 new jobs and development will start in March, and is expected to be finished by November.

Co-director Richard Nicholson said: "We wanted to create a year-round attraction.

"We think this is the best way to do that, as we want people to come to Cannon Hall Farm and know there will be something for them to do whatever the weather.

"It's amazing how far it's come in ten years. Just a few days ago we were looking at photos from then and it's come a long way."

Richard also revealed the farm has secured planning permission for an all-new farm shop, but this won't be for three more years.

The attraction, in Cawthorne, has about 290,000 visitors a year and is expecting this to soar to 420,000 with the new facilities.

This is good news. The sky,s the limit as far as education is concerned. I like it being hands on for the kids.

Great news. I left Barnsley many years ago but when I get back I love to visit Cannon Hall Farm , as a child my parents would take us there. We would sit on the grass and have picnics, feed the docks and run round. I even remember watching my first cricket match there. Lovely memories. :)
