Pair Leave Reds

Friday January 10 2014

Oakwell Oakwell

CHRIS Dagnall and Scott Wiseman have left Oakwell by mutual consent.

Dagnall, a January 2012 signing from Scunthorpe United, made 61 appearances for Barnsley, scoring 11 goals.

Wiseman, who joined Barnsley from Rochdale in the summer of 2011, made 111 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.

Manager Danny Wilson said: "We wish them all the best and it's the way things work out in football - we just needed to freshen things up."

Think we might have done ok with dagnall being with us? But mr wilson must have a plan without him im pleased wiseman is gone we need perkins to go. Along with dawson. Steele and melon. Hopefuly with others to follow im pleased mr wilson has had a long hard look at the team. And asked for honest performances verbaly from the team after keeping them locked in the dressing rom an hour and half after the coventry game .. It looks like wiseman has been honest others need to follow his example. They are simply not god enough for bfc.

Danny's right and we all know he can do the job so lets all stand by him all the way even if we go down first and have to start again in lg 1. Not like the fickle fans who boo after each loss..

Barnsley fc have way too many fickle fans. They should live in the real world and realise the Championship is a lot harder than it was 10+ years ago. Once again, we have the people of Barnsley living in the past wanting Premiership football

Howbis it living in past wanting the team to do well? We have every right to boo when theybare charging so much for the games. If we are such a small club then why are we paying championship prices? We showed last year that we deserve to be in the league, so whybsettle for league 1? Are you people on the board or something because you clearly have no ambition just like them. We have more than half the clubs in the championship and we should be challenging to stay up. Booing them is a clear sign of frustration after everything the club officials said in the summer about a new beginning for everyone, and we are worse off than ever. I cant believe people are saying the fans have npt got a right to boo the players whos wages the fans are paying!! Cock ends

Even if the team is average or like Brazil, how does booing the team help??? I started watching Barnsley 40 years ago in Division 4. In those days you got behind the team. If you didn't like em you stayed at home. The lower gate receipts are a better way of motivating the club but you do not interfere in the motivation of those red shirts on match day. For me that is unforgiveable no matter what your justification. I thought we stuck together around here?.

I agree with red til dead and gosh Bowes. You should support your team. Stay at hone to criticize booing won't help. If you do something wrong or make a mistake does your friends and family boo you and knock your confidence n moral.? Hope not. Support boosts awareness and people thrive then. I agree may have to go down n start again but Dans the man!

Last Season?? we only just stayed up dint we or am I wrong. what is the highest we have finished in the Champ? personally we played better football in League1. ridiculous prices and poor performance will drive fans away in the Championship whereas cheaper tickets and better football in League 1 will bring more fans to matches etc. we're going to get relegated lets face facts!

Cheaper tickets in league 1 don't think so they can't afford to lower prices JUDAS OUT lose today sack em all build an asda never mine all this rubbish get behind em been behind em 40 year no gud fighting relagation every year my nerves can't stand it

We can and should be doing better in the championship . Its nothing to do with being a small club . Look at Burnley, small fan base they get 14,000 for a home game and they are top of the league .Barnsley would get same attendance if we were in same position . Burnley are flying and so can we if we get behind our team. I didn,t like wilson appointment for the reason he left 15 years ago . But if he does the job so be it!

Burnley have spent quite a bit of money Fawkes. They are still getting the parachute payments from the Premier League. Barnsley can't compete at this level, and it shows.

They just don't have the finance to buy decent Championship players.

Fred your right we are out of our depth with this current squad and to be fair last three seasons.

You freshen things up by bringing players in, thought Dagnall was worth keeping he played a big part in the Reds staying up last season. Good Luck to him.
