Noble Has English Title Ambitions As Grudge Match Approaches

Friday January 10 2014

We Are Barnsley We Are Barnsley

IT'S Barnsley vs Sheffield as two rival fighters prepare to meet in the ring in February.

Lee Noble, from Dodworth, reckons he's 'conned' Sheffield rival Dave Fidler into a fight - after baiting him on social media sites.

The pair meet at iceSheffield on February 7 for the International Masters light-middleweight title.

"This all started when I watched Fidler beat Matthew Mallin in Barnsley," Lee said.

"I wasn’t impressed with Fidler and still can’t work out why he is undefeated.

"I knew he wouldn’t just agree to a fight with me so I took the easy route and started the banter on Twitter and Facebook.

"I lured him into it and like an idiot he fell for it. He’s had a go back - calling Barnsley people 'Dingles' - but I know I will beat him."

Noble has been out of the sport for a year, after spending ten months in prison for assault.

He added: "I have been sparring with Kell Brook and that’s gone well - he's coming to the fight and believes I'm going to win."

dave fiddler work rate last night was fantastic however a fantastic boxing brain will always overcome the workrate and thats what happened last night at ice sheffield, the brawn was fiddler always chasing and barking away however the brains came from noble telling punches good movement overcame the brawn.hence the result a noble win onwards and upwards.for noble.nav would idealy be the next best fight for noble both boxers cagey the brawn would be there but not as much as the brain so an easier fight for noble .possibly nav could vacate it and then rematch number 2 the brain v the brawn a sellout for sure.
