Man Sent To Crown Court

Thursday January 2 2014

A MAN accused of conspiracy to handle stolen cars has been sent to Sheffield Crown Court.

Joe Haigh, 26, will make his first appearance on a video link on January 3.

Haigh, who made no plea at Barnsley Magistrates' Court, is alleged to have handled stolen goods in South and West Yorkshire between March and April 2013.

Haigh, of no fixed address, appeared in custody and his solicitor Morgan Hogarth made no application for bail.

Chantel Lowery-Green, prosecuting, said the case could only be dealt with at crown court because of its seriousness.
