A BARNSLEY MP has been promoted to the role of Shadow Minister after Ed Miliband’s reshuffle of his team.

Michael Dugher, the MP for Barnsley East, will now be a full member of the Shadow Cabinet, with responsibilities for policy areas including public sector efficiency and reform, Civil Service issues and government transparency.

Mr Dugher also retains responsibility for political and campaign communications.

"I'm honoured to have been appointed to this new position," he said. "I look forward to working with the rest of the Shadow Cabinet to highlight the government’s unfair policies and to expose how David Cameron is failing to deal with the cost of living crisis in Barnsley and across the country.

"It's also a privilege to play my part in working to see a Labour government in 2015 and helping Ed Miliband into Number 10."

Old "duggy" Dugher gets a promotion eh?
Must have licked some boots to get that then eh?

He couldn't give a monkeys about what goes on in his constituency especially what is happening in the world of work in his said constituency.

Never mind Duggy, keep on the right track and you will eventually become a "true" Gravy Trainer just like the rest of the elected Labour members in our town.

Oh and while i'm on, have a word with your "secretary" she took nearly a week to reply to my email.

Stevo, don't forget his secretary/office manager is his wife who he pays £35,000 of taxpayers money a year. Not sure how many hours she is actually in the office though as they had a baby last year.

Couldn't agree more about lack of interest in constituency. His Friday afternoon 'surgeries' are very short.

That's right, the LABOUR conmen are promoted into higher positions!

£35k paid to his wife out of YOUR money! What does she do for her £35k other than make a nice brew? How is her salary justified? Who decided it was ok to pay her that much? Was it OTHER LABOUR Councillors perhaps?

Now he's promoted to enable him to do MORE damage!

What good have these idiots done?....(Other than fleece the tax payer to line their own pockets)

Time for a change.....the council is full of Labour, yet they can't even fix the pot holes in the roads, because they are too busy counting the money they earn for doing NOTHING!

....And lets not also forget Jarvis (ALSO LABOUR) was selected as the Labour candidate for Barnsley Central on 27 January 2011 following the resignation of Eric Illsley, who stood down after being CONVICTED of FRAUD for his part in the United Kingdom Parliamentary expenses scandal! Same spots (LABOUR), different leopard!

Can we expect any better, when we keep voting them in? At least Eric Illsley did try and do something for his constituency. This guy can't even support Barnsley FC. he'd rather spend our money on watching Nottingham forest. Lets start to support something of Barnsley Michael, even if it's not your local football team.

Alex...what exactly did he do for his constituency? He got convicted for fraud, effectively stealing money from the very people he pretended to support. That isn't media propaganda, it is fact.

Aye he was one of the few that claimed the maximum amount of expenses available which if I recall was to the tune of around 60 grand per annum on the year he got caught.

What's good moaning Barnsley people select there candidate Barnsley people vote for them. Why don't they pick someone from our locality? Because a local lad wouldn't fall in line with local Labor policies, and don't worry about trying to insult your MPs there thick skins and laughing all the way to the bank, plus the fact they don't give a toss about us.?

We have People who check on our schools etc, to make sure they come up to standard, but have we any body to check on our MPs wife's to see if there competent enough to be employed as a polatitions sec, because there are hundreds of qualified Barnsley Lasses that are, that could, and for less money.its true what one old Barnsley lad said Sheep lead by Sheep ?I will never ever vote Labour again,
