I dont think anyobe deserves to be assulted and are you telling me a grown man cant walk away from words if that was the actual case here? I wounder if you think he still deserved it if this was maybe your son?

You never know nonya, the kid may have used the language and disrespect that you have just posted to the guy that smacked him.
I'm not condoning the guys action, but woe betide if a young guy spoke to me like you have just posted,I would have to bite my lip I'm afraid.
Lots of the youth have no filters ,yet we adults have what, just keep pretending that they are irritating little flies? We went there so don't no what happened. Looks to me like a lippy kid showing off meets a short fused ,had a crap day kinda bloke. Who no's.

nonya if you talk to me like that. you would get the same.

From the words you've used Nonya I presume that the young lad is a relative of yours. I guess that your potty mouth is hereditory and that's why he got slapped. I don't agree with assaulting anyone, however, I also don't agree with how disrespectful and arrogant a lot of younger teenagers are today as well. Perhaps if WAB published the full story from both sides people would take a more objective view, however, I guess that they can't in case it prejudices a case and also because at the moment there is only the young lads side of the story being told.
Whether he's your relative or not, there's no excuse for your attitude, language or the behaviour you are encouraging saying you hope it happens to someone else. You really ought to have more respect for yourself.

Just to set your literacy straight - seen as you seem to be portraying a pretentious attitude to assert your opinion - you spelt *hereditary* wrong.

Moving on, you talk about finding an 'objective' view, which implies you need facts. If you want a factual conclusion from this story, then why are you creating assumptions that 'nonya' is a relative of the victim, furthermore, why promote stereotypes of youngsters? I'm 17 myself, and I have nothing but complete respect for others in this world. Moreover, the majority (at least 90%) of people I know - who are approximately the same age as myself - have the same views as I and would never be considered 'arrogant' and 'disrespectful'.

Why believe partisanship views? Furthermore, why attempt to sound intelligent, when you actually come across as pretentious and hypocritical?

Think it might be the same guy who gave my son and his mate a slap earlier this year, fits the describtion anyway. Apparently he aaa talking to them one minute then turned on the m the next, but having met my son my guess is there was more to it.

The wonderful society of today. It' a free country i speak what i think, as i'm legally obliged to, nowhere in the law does it state a human being can not speak freely,

Verbal and physical are completely different... what if the kid did say anything to him, there's no need to assault them. Definitely when the guy is in his 30's and the kid is only 16. He should no better, not to hit him

Reply Posted by bertie on Monday September 23 2013 at 14:39
yes kids are very lippy these days and no I don't condone it the law say's you cant hit your own kids so why should he not be punished the kid is a kid the adult hit a kid would he sit back and think it was ok for another adult to hit a kid of his and all you who thinks It's is ok I just hope it dos'nt happen to a family member of yours

Reply Posted by amy on Monday September 23 2013 at 14:55
well i think its disgusting 30 year old hitting a 16 year old boy there no right in head even if the boy mouthed or not the bloke should have just turned away god if i hit everyone who sed something wrong to me id be locked up by now its perfectic u all wont be saying that he deserves it if it was ur own believe i no im a mother myself !!!

We will remember this comment when a group of 15years old are down lundwood again kicking to death a poor chinese man. we hall say well amy say's its ok. too much protection for so called young kids. if your big enough to mouth off accept the comebacks. i for one will not be spoken to like an idiot and that ive just dropped on this earth only just yesterday.

Reply Posted by sid on Monday September 23 2013 at 19:25
I'm with you on this Craig. Some of the young kids really are horrible. The last thing any adult wants is a cocky little scroat mouthing off. Maybe the kid met someone who,s done what many off us at sometime ,want to do.
Its the filthy language that sets adults off, when its from kids. I hear it all the time whilst shopping, its vile.

Kids are disgusting these days, i wouldn't ever dream of speaking to people the way they do now a days,

No one deserves to be assaulted but they should know not to be so disrespectful, it normally takes something like this to happen before children realise they can't do whatever they like.

My friend has had to bite her tongue many of times after being spit on and stuff thrown at her on buses same with any old person, they especially dread getting on the bus, but who is to blame when people stand up for themselves because it's not the kids is it.

Reply Posted by sid on Tuesday September 24 2013 at 11:03
I reckon most people will agree that a lot of the kids these days are disrespectful when out and about. They think nothing of using foul language in front of their own children. It is disgusting. I had to pull 3 lads and 4 lasses up for using the c...in front of my 7 year old. Worst thing was, they did apologise, but were shocked that they had actually been pulled up about it. I'm not sure that they even realised it was wrong or that they had in fact said it? Its everyday talk now with some kids. Its vile.

Reply Posted by craig on Tuesday September 24 2013 at 16:29
im with you sid, there is a time and a place. foul language anything under 18 is not the time so nowhere is the place.

Reply Posted by bx on Wednesday September 25 2013 at 16:10
not been funny but not all 'young ens' are the same, some older people have got zero respect, we only know what we've been tought, it gets me so angry when people tarnish everyone under 18 with the same brush its not fair.

Reply Posted by xxxxx on Wednesday September 25 2013 at 16:14
no matter weather he deserved or not that is sum1 son no matter what I think people on here should have more respect and if their was place for young kids to go may this not happen I agree with nonya if you have nowt nice to say don't commet pluse their could have been kids old pple etc on that bus that never want to get on a bus again have a little repect some people these days

Reply Posted by mark on Wednesday September 25 2013 at 16:22
I cant remember reading that the 16 year old was mouthin off at him so people are just jumping to conclusens. Maybe the guy is a wife beater and a child hater. Or maybe the bus driver smokes crack does any of that matter NO why? Becouse we dont know if its true so why say the kid deserved it if you know nothing

Reply Posted by sue on Wednesday September 25 2013 at 19:30
Hey Mark,I take your point, but what type of person gets on a bus minding his own journey and then for no reason, decides to whack someone? Something will have peed the guy off. Also, there's no input from the youth within this report, which you would expect if he was innocent. It is fishy to my mind.

I witnessed a assault on the x10 bus a month ago, I woman who was in ger 40s assaulted a boy who was around 14 years old. The lad and his friend was tormenting the woman and throwing things at her, the woman got up and started punshing the boy in the face it was horrible to see

Reply Posted by sue on Wednesday September 25 2013 at 19:22
Hey ... Wasn it horrible that 2 lads were throwing stuff at this woman then? If they had thrown at me,I would have thrown their nuts right over their shoulder.
Are you being silly or what?

Oy sue, im not beibg silly, you wasnt on that bus! ! It weren't just the 2 lads who were being out of order! Some of the things rhe woman was saying was out of order, judging the boys and there parents! I really do find that disgusting! . She assaulted that boy and what she did was wrong!!!!

Reply Posted by sue on Wednesday September 25 2013 at 21:18
Well, you don't say all that in your post, hence my post. Yes,sounds like they were just two sets of bad sods that clashed.
I hate violence with a passion, but if someone threw something at me,they'd get it!!

Reply Posted by mark on Wednesday September 25 2013 at 22:29
Sue i dont know what kinda person gets on a bus n hits somone for no reason and i dont know if it was or wasnt for nothing thats why im not judgeing. I just dont agree why becouse there young it was there fault. Not every teenager is a thug a druggy or just a newsonce.

Reply Posted by sue on Wednesday September 25 2013 at 22:49
Take your point mark. I don't know what kind of person gets on the bus and just smacks someone either. But you witnessed a couple of youths who got on a bus and just started throwing objects and tormenting a woman. No,all teenagers arn,t bad,but the bad ones may one day meet their match.
In the end,I fear respect for one another is sadly shrinking. It's a shame.

Probebly more to it, it really depends on how bad the young 1 was mouthing off maybe he threw something at him then he prob got whats comeing to him, if he dint really do anything or light mouthing or sed something its really right and he should get arrested or something.

I would also like to mention I'm not a violent man and this incendent happened on my birthday. that young man shouldn't be aloud to use public transport if he cannot behave in a proper manner. I'm actually in shock at being accused of this. And with regards to the statement at the top he escaped with minor bruising we a I came away with a bust nose as you an see in the picture which resulted in a deep purple eye for 2 weeks after! Maybe I could have handled it better but what's a man to do when someone provokes you in such a way. Also the young man involved looked to me to be in his late teens early 20s and I stopped as soon as he said he was 16. I felt embarrassed to have acted in such a way but for him to accuse me of assault when he started with me is jus absurd. Also 16 or 20 what's the difference nobody should act in such a disrespectful way to anyone what if I had been 60+ instead of 27 that boy would have got away scot free and the man/woman would probably never used public transport again for fear of this happening again. It's a sad world we live in and people like this only make it progressively worse. The youth of today have zero respect for themselves and everyone around them an I suppose this just prove that.

hi Kenny, i am glad you have responded to these comments. i read them all and reserved judgement because i knew there was more to it than what was reported as there more or less always is. i don't condone violence but as you say you were provoked and i am 65 and a female and yes i am one of the very few people who would have done the same as you. this is one of the reasons that a lot of people don't catch public transport. hope you get on ok love and i hope he gets what's coming to him x

Reply Posted by LIAM on Sunday September 29 2013 at 17:38
There must have been some provocation for the assault to have happened however it always takes the bigger person to walk away, fair enough hardly any room on a bus that's why he should have informed driver.

Reply Posted by dee on Sunday September 29 2013 at 18:14
i read these comments and it astounds me how you all jump to conclusions and get things wrong, then when the truth outs you shut up but never apoligise for your controversal comments and put downs..glad you have responded kenny, but it would have been better reporting the incident to the police as soon as you got off the bus, this would have stopped the police releasing the images and encouraging idiots to make senarios on what could have happened..x

Reply Posted by Kenny on Monday September 30 2013 at 11:43
Liam when the incendent started my partner asked the driver for help and he jus stayed there and did nothing the driver was a coward an since this whole things gone public I will be placing a complaint against him aswell.an with regards to informing the police when I got off the bus I thort he's jus a kid so wats the point plus I could do without the hassle of court ect but I guess I'm goin there now too

Reply Posted by sid on Monday September 30 2013 at 12:09
Kenny,I've backed you on this, but I can't back you with regards to the bus driver. My pal is a bus driver, he's an ordinary guy, with no training regards fighting. They are paid to drive, not police the vehicle. If he had ended up fighting he would be sacked. I wouldn't call that cowardice. That's unfair,he's just an ordinary family guy doing his job.

Reply Posted by Kenny on Tuesday October 1 2013 at 13:35
Fair comment Sid but the driver is there to ensure the passengers have a safe and pleasant journey. I shouldn't have said that but at the end of the day he made me an my partner get off the bus when we were the ones who go attacked.

Reply Posted by sid on Tuesday October 1 2013 at 17:50
Well Kenny,,maybe the driver didn't know who started it. All the same, his duties as the driver don't cover fighting. Anyway, hope all goes well for you. The. Little scroat
