THE Reds' highly-rated teenager Paul Digby is hungry for games as he recovers from a year on the sidelines.

The 18-year-old has impressed in pre-season friendlies having missed last season through a hip injury.

He said: "I feel like I've done well so far. It's nice when people appreciate how well you're playing but you can't let it go to your head - you have to focus on football.

"I've heard the odd thing about being the next John Stones but although he's a huge inspiration to all of us young lads at the club, I just want to play as many games as I can for Barnsley.

"It's every boy's dream to play in the Premier League though and we're all hoping to get there one day."

Digby describes last season's survival as a 'minor miracle' and believes big things could be ahead in the next few months.

"If we can take that form from last season into this one then it's scary to imagine where this club could be.

"We have some unbelievable talent here and I'm so excited to be a part of it. There's a buzz around the place."
