Wife gets surprise Wife gets surprise

CHERYL Wall might have had to buy her Twitter addict husband a Reds season ticket, but she now has one too thanks to the Chronicle and Barnsley Football Club.

Cheryl bought husband Simon a season ticket after he managed to get 10,000 people to re-post his message on Twitter which read: "My wife's just said if I get more than 10,000 RTs she will buy a Barnsley FC season ticket. Big ask people, do your stuff."

The couple visited Oakwell on Monday to buy the ticket, only to realise new chief executive Ben Mansford had agreed to give Cheryl her own season ticket for free after being approached by the Chronicle.

Simon, 38, said: "I was gobsmacked when we got down there and Ben donated a free season ticket. She's stuck to her word after I got the 10,000 re-tweets so I'm glad she's got something out of this as well."

Mr Mansford can i have a free season ticket next season for 25 years continuous loyalty to the reds?

On a elastic note that wouldn't be a bad marketing tool, for every x amount of years of continuous season tickets held get a season free.

My husband has been a loyal supporter for 29 years we even sent fotos of him out in afghan wearing his Barnsley shirt to soccer am and it got shown does he get one like hummers he would. Also booked his homecoming from afghan party in the legends suite, paid near on a thousand pound and didn't even get a complimentary drink

I totally agree with H, it isn't fair that his wife got a free season ticket just cos her husband managed to get the required retweets. There are supporters out there who have been loyal to the club and get nothing back. It's amazing that they can give away a season ticket nearly £300-£400 and not even supply a complimentary drink to a guest of honour at his party. It's all down to publicity and money at the end of the day.
