Police appeal Police appeal

POLICE want to track down a couple who they believe were in the area some minutes before a Hoyland man was attacked.

Dean Armitage, 49, remains in Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, after he was injured outside his home on Skiers View Road early on July 21.

Detectives believe that about ten to 15 minutes before the incident took place, a man and woman walked past the scene and police are anxious to trace them.

The man was described as white, slim, around 18 years old with short, wavy, fair hair and was wearing light blue shorts with no top.

Both people are said to have Barnsley accents and were arguing as they walked along Skiers View Road.

David Sindall, 33, of Selborne Street, Eastwood, Rotherham has been charged with burglary and grievous bodily harm.

He appeared at Barnsley Magistrates' Court on Saturday and has been remanded to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on August 9.
