THE police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision.

At around 4.40pm on June 17, a collision occurred at the junction of the A629 Copster Lane with Coates Lane, Oxspring.

It's believed that a red Renault Clio exited from Coates Lane into the A629 and collided with a grey Toyota Yaris, which was travelling from the direction of Thurgoland towards Hoylandswaine.

The driver of the Clio, a 35-year-old woman from Sheffield, sustained serious injuries to her collarbone and stomach.

The driver of the Yaris, a 78-year-old woman from Barnsley, sustained minor injuries.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision. Please call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 845 of June 17 2013.
