We Are Barnsley can now confirm that tickets for the Christmas Concert at The Metrodome (on November 25) will be free. The acts performing are: Amelia Lily (X factor - 2011 Finalist); Lloyd Daniels (X-Factor 2009); Chelcee Grimes, who has been pipped as one of the UK’s brightest emerging talent.

It will also feature Irish pop act Boulevard, who supported Boyzone on there most recent tour; Vida, a girl band mentored by JLS and Twenty Twenty who have supported The Saturdays and The Wanted.

The official light switch on will take place on November 23 at 6pm and the switch will be flicked by the Mayor, Coun Karen Dyson and Bob The Builder, who will be doing shows at 2pm and 5.15pm.

There will be a firework display after the switch on. This will be followed by a Christmas party for young people at Escapade between 4.30 and 8pm.

so now they are making it into 2 events istead of having 1 big event in the town centre i thought it was bad enuff last year on the county way carpark due to not being able to even see the lights switched on  and now u have to go to metrodome a day earlier to watch the live show instead and i certainly shall not be doing that this year and neither will i be going to watch the lights being turned on by bob the bloody builder

So Meadowhall has Pop Star like Tinchy Stridder and Mark Cardle switching on their lights and we get the Mayor AND Bob the Builder?  Let you know later if I'm impressed.  May have to think about it for a while.

Thought about it.  I'll stay at home and watch Bob on my extortionate TV License fee instead.  Costs me less than my Council Tax and get more Bob for the p[ound

it should be like it used to be - good acts performing on the top of the alhambra centre so that everyone can see it.

i think pepper pig should  turn lights on because it was fun last year when she turned them on  and the events should be on same day and at same time in the same place not to different days and different time it a bit wrong like :@
