BARNSLEY has been awarded £80,000 to improve the experiences of its visitors.

The arts and museums service has been given the sum by Arts Council England.

It will be used to fund consultancy work that will explore new income generation sources.

One area that needs improving is just outside the main entrance to the Bus/Train Station. The improvements needed are something to move on the large numbers of teenagers who hang about with their trousers hanging down & who just cause a nuisance/intimidation by the sheer volume of them. If they were hanging around like that at the end of someones street, they could be moved on or broken down into smaller groups but because its in the town centre, nothing seems to get done about it. The other part would be to remove the mass amounts of litter that seem to be laying around everywher within the whole of the borough. Do something about it Barnsley council, employ some wardens with the money to move these kids on and to fine the people who litter the streets.
