THREE Barnsley teenagers are tackling the economic downturn in their own way - by starting a business.

Young entrepreneurs Keeley Nixon, 15, Moussa Haydar, 14, and Patryk Pawlewicz, 15 have formed The Braid which sells jewellery and watches.

They're all pupils at Horizon Community College and are taking part in the 'I Know I Can Barnsley Big Challenge' business creation competition.

Keeley said: "We went round school and found there was demand. We're in profit so far and have started doing key-rings."

Keeley, Moussa and Patryk were among guests at last month's launch of iTrust Barnsley, a new partnership between the Barnsley Chronicle and Barnsley College designed to create the town's next generation of business leaders which offers business start-up support for people aged 16 to 30.
