THREE people have been arrested after an investigation on a serious road traffic collision.

The incident, which happened on Racecommon Road in December 2012, resulted in a 50-year-old Barnsley man sustaining multiple life-threatening injuries after he was involved in a collision with a vehicle that failed to stop at the scene.

The injured man is making steady progress in his recovery and is now out of hospital.

One person was arrested in December in connection to this incident, and after an extensive police investigation, three more people were arrested on May 5.

All four people are currently on police bail while enquiries continue.

I suspect that the arrested people will either be teenaged or foreign. In a way, I hope they are, because if these are experienced drivers then the world is in a much worse state than even I knew :-(
