DAVID Flitcroft has agreed to become Barnsley's manager on a permanent basis.

Flitcroft's assistant Micky Mellon and Martin Scott will also remain at Oakwell.

Flitcroft led the Reds to a miraculous survival in the Championship after Keith Hill's departure while he also took them to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Unless Barnsley have a bit of cash to spend we shall be in the same boat as last season. It has been sinking slowly,and all the life jackets have gone,so if they don't come up with the cash,don't bother getting your season tickets,why should the loyal Barnsley supporters always be asked to cast the first pounds into the kitty.Lett the powers that be show that they are as loyal as the lads en lasses that ar the proudest supporters in the land

Well said Colin, unless there's a change of direction at Oakwell it looks like another relegation struggle. However I may consider going back myself next season but it depends on the summer signings. And if Steve Harker goes back.??
