Successful Business Moves To Barnsley

A MULTI-MILLION pound engineering company has chosen Barnsley as its new base.

A&J Water Treatment designs, makes and installs scraping and skimming equipment used by water companies across the UK.

Formerly part of Dewsbury-based Fabtech, A&J Water became a separate company last April and has turned over more than £3.5 million in its first year.

It recently switched operations from Dewsbury to Dodworth's Fall Bank Industrial Estate, and expects to recruit from the local area as it strives to grow by ten per cent over the coming year.

Enterprising Barnsley is aiding the firm’s expansion by providing free business support.

Managing director, David Middleton, said: “We selected Barnsley as our new location for its good transport links but also because it will give us access to highly skilled workers.

"We didn’t expect the excellent level of business support here and that’s an added bonus.”

Err 54% of ANY job vacancies go to foreign migrants in Barnsley.
45% of said foreign migrants do NOT live in the local area, they travel from Leeds, Wakefield and Doncaster, this is a well known FACT.
