Witnesses Sought To Alleged Car Thief Crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car that was thought to be stolen ploughed through a garden wall on Houghton Road, in Thurnscoe, last night (Wednesday, October 26).

The black Volkswagen Bora - driven by a 22-year-old man - failed to stop for police on Station Road which led to a pursuit. The car was being stopped after a report of a theft from Barrowfield Road.

The Bora went around the wrong side of a mini traffic island for the junction of Station Road with Houghton Road, before the driver lost control and crashed into a garden wall on Houghton Road.

The passengers in the Bora, two men aged 18 and 19, sustained slight injuries and were taken to Barnsley District General Hospital but not detained.

The driver suffered a broken leg and possible internal injuries and is being treated in Barnsley District General Hospital. All three men are from Barnsley.

dont mean to be funny ...but the 3 men involved have worse injuries that what u have stated all 3 are still in hospital .

car wasnt stolen it was his girlfriends car .. driver as broken leg 4 possible broken verterbrates also sholder damage other 2 had broken ankle and and many stitchs.. Family member!
