Expanding Grimethorpe Firm To Create New Jobs

Wednesday May 1 2013

We Are Barnsley We Are Barnsley

A GRIMETHORPE firm is creating ten new jobs as it moves to premises three times its current site.

Experia, which designs, manufactures and installs sensory equipment for children with disabilities is moving to a bigger unit on Park Springs industrial estate.

It provides sensory rooms including fibre optic lights, projectors and sensory carpets which help children with issues such as speech and colour recognition.

The business moved to Grimethorpe from South Kirkby in 2010 and now installs products in places as far away as Mexico, Kuwait, Dubai and Australia.

Marketing manager Richard Nelson said Experia has come from humble beginnings and another ten jobs will be created when it completes its move.

Six new people have been added in the last six weeks and the company also has an office in America.

Richard says the company is happy to stay in Grimethorpe and is already making the transition over to its new premises.

"We had the choice of numerous areas to move to," he said.

"A lot of the guys who work here live in Grimethorpe and we have got a good, close-knit team. The main aim was to keep close to Grimethorpe.

"We will be looking for people from Grimethorpe and the surrounding areas to employ.

"We are employing all the time to keep up with demand."

Lindsey, you'd do better seeing if you can contact whoever's responsible for hiring at Experia direct. They do have their own website but I can't post a link for you.
