Diesel Thief Used Firm's Card To Steal £3,000 Worth
Wednesday May 15 2013
A COURIER used his firm's card to fraudulently take more than £3,000 of diesel, Barnsley Magistrates' Court was told.
Lynsay Steven Burgess, 24, of Kendray, took some of the fuel away in containers, said Chantel Lowery-Green, prosecuting.
She said Burgess's dishonesty came to light when his bosses noticed 'unauthorised activity' on the fuel payment card.
Burgess, who was not represented by a solicitor, said nothing when he was given the chance to put forward his side of the story.
He admitted fraud by false representation and the case was adjourned until May 2 for a pre-sentence report.
Burgess was granted unconditional bail.
