Horizon shows progress Horizon shows progress

OFSTED has carried out its report of Horizon Community College.

The Dodworth Road-based college was in the spotlight more so as its students' achievement levels were a cause for concern at Holgate and Kingstone schools.

After Ofsted inspectors observed, it found that the college is making 'reasonable progress' in raising standards for all of its 2,106 students.

The report states: "Lesson observations and school records show that the proportion of students making progress at or above the expected rate has improved since the college opened, especially in English, mathematics and science."

The report commended the teachers' knowledge levels, and it stated that it's impressed with how the two schools have successfully merged.

Excellent news for Horizon CC. My daughter attends this school and what an outstanding school this is. I have every confidence that this school will help kids achieve their very best. Teachers are great and help is on hand in every dept.
GCSE results will undoubtedly be the measure as it always is. What people may not realise is that the school has invested heavily into alternative curriculum, careers education, work based learning as well as many other aspiring projects. Keep up the good work Horizon.
