Healey Urges Government To Back Climate Change Teaching

Thursday April 4 2013

MP John Healey MP John Healey

MP JOHN Healey has urged the government to back climate change teaching - amid reports it could be wiped from the national curriculum.

He's written to the education secretary asking him to pledge his support for school children learning about the environment.

The MP also pointed to the successful Eco-Schools project in the Dearne, to which all 45 schools in the area have signed up.

“An understanding of the environmental issues and challenges we are facing is vital to young people growing up today," he said. "Climate change will continue to be high on the political and scientific agenda and green business will be key to a growing economy."

Over the last 18 months, every school in the Dearne has signed up to be an eco-school.

I am really pissed off listening about climate change......non of you teachers of climate change weather freaks have a clue what your talking about......weather from the beginning of time let alone when we popped out of the womb anddecided we were going to be the most intelligent creature ugh.vomit.......
Once upon a time the sahara desert was was lush and green
the arctic was the same...thousands of times the earth has bounced from left to right ticking away getting warmer. geting colder.
Does everybody not know that we were once somewhere in the south atlantict.
Then we were joined to france then the rivers between england and francewere covered with a quarter of a mile thick glacier melted and made an island out of us and the same cycle happened all around the globe .
Of course the weathers going to change...
Everything is about getting money out of people in any form or fashion.......
Or to prepare you to pay for something
global warming my ass if the government were that interested in global warming they wouldnt play with the weather.
They wouldnt play with nuclear weapons
or as the americans call the.newkiller.
When the next big ice age happens
or the next great flood....... what will be will be .
.......to ponder....... out of all the wars around the world ships planes tankers of billions of gallons of oil in the sea where is it all.........stop killing us with global warming crap.....plant some trees in derbyshire and pennines with the trillions in vat youve stole and work on what would benifit our world

Thats right teach a subject that thus far is unproven. John Healey is a clown. Climate change is unproven and thus far the only reason that it is being forced upon everyone is for taxation reasons. There have been smear campaigns against scientists that dare to debunk any theories but thus far no evidence that climate change is man made, as the poster above rightly says historical evidence shows climate change is a natural process. The world is in constant change. an always will be

The climate debate goes on, experts can argue both sides. Saying that it is man made and of course they mean us and nothing to do with big business. The climate has always changed and will continue to change. Find out for yourself how much the temperature has or has not risen in the last 16 years. Green tax subsidies to the renewable energy industry, mainly for wind turbines is said to be about £100 a year on electricity bills. Have parents looked at what their children are being taught, have they researched for themselves, are children to be indoctrinated into the green revolution, are children allowed to have critical thinking. I am not saying that we should not care about our environment, pick up litter, sort our rubbish bins, be energy aware and conserve our natural environments but parents should take an interest in the things that their children are being taught and where it is all coming from. Who is behind the green agenda?

when i was at school there wasnt climate change education. it was geography. in the geod lesson i was told 40 yrs ago that evolution etc changed the world. and that it had always happened . since the beginning of time. which les quite rightly points out. the "massive" countries of the planet...america...india...russia...are to take no part in re cycling and have no beleif in carbon emissions etc. we are a small island. and we will never save the planet...so to speak. as someone again quite rightly says. some of the things we do in this country are good. but were not going to do it on our own. whether it be with taxation or not. taxation is not the way on this issue. if..!!!!! governments around the world are really...honestly...concerned about global warming..(which is a natural occurence)..and if. the governments think carbon emissions are the reasons for this. then they must immediately bring all aircraft from the skies. take all the heavy goods vehicles. and any other vehicles from the roads. but thewy wont.....will they?..ask yourelves the same question.

Global warming/climate change: As far as I can see there is no real evidence to support GW/CC. There is a whole new industry built up around it and it is just a lot of nonsense. Build more power stations I say.
