Monk Bretton Library To Close

Tuesday March 12 2013

We Are Barnsley We Are Barnsley

MONK Bretton Library will be closed to the public from March 29.

Following recent public consultation, the library service in Monk Bretton will be re-provisioned at the former Redfearns Sports and Social Club later in the year.

Books and other items which are out on loan can be returned to any other branch or mobile library.

Items can also be renewed using the online library catalogue (for which you will need a PIN number available from any library).

The nearest library service points are at Priory Library, Central Library or Roundhouse Lifelong Learning Centre.

I am guessing that they will do something like Goldthorpe library. It used to be nice if a bit tatty. Then they revamp it and guess what it has suddenly changed into the new Connects place. Suddenly full of loud mouthed swearing low life scum screaming about their housing issues in front of my little kids trying to pick library books.
They could have at least shoved them upstairs out of the way. So much for the quiet of the library.

I can't understand why the folk of Monk Bretton are moaning don't they know there's a recession going on. Why don't they simply hop on a bus and go to Barnsleys Central Library where they can go outside and read their books amidst the serenity of the Town Hall Fountain..!!!!

Sad ! They'll be building houses on the park next, and yes there is a recession going on , and it costs money to travel to Barnsley and back.
