Doctor Suspended For Six Months

Wednesday March 13 2013

A DOCTOR with practices in Brierley and Shafton has been suspended for six months after his conduct was found to be dishonest and misleading.

Dr Magdi Selim - who has practices on Church Drive in Brierley and Sceptone Grove in Shafton - admitted applying for membership to The Royal College of General Practitioners with inaccurate information from an earlier bid which had failed.

At the tribunal hearing, Sophie Cartwright, representing the General Medical Council, called for Dr Selim to be struck off.

"I'm taking a sabbatical," said Dr Selim. "I've not had a holiday in 22 years and I'm going to travel the world."
