Wombwell Pub Closes Without Warning

Monday February 18 2013

A PUB has closed after its tenants left without warning.

The Royal Oak in Wombwell was most recently run by John Woodhouse and Toni Rutkowski on behalf of Punch Taverns.

Punch has recently put the pub up for sale but said it has closed because the couple left without notification.

Mr Woodhouse confirmed they had left after they 'got it taking money again' but would not comment further.

A spokesman for Punch Taverns said: "We are aware that the pub has closed after our temporary tenant left the site without prior notification. We are working towards reopening and anticipate this will happen in the very near future."

Pubcos are the problem. If you get the pub taking money they put everything up so you will never make a living. They are simply greedy

too right tommy if they did not charge as much rent and for the beer u have to buy off them pubs would not be shutting down as fast as they are if they charged fair rent and fair price for there beer these companys charge one pub a price for its beer and the pub across the road less for its beer

The only way to make a living these days is to have a FREEHOUSE. that way you play the brewerys and wholesalers against each other for more discount. YOU call the shots. TIED pubs dont have a cat in hells chance of making a desent living, because the top 3 robbing bastards want all the profits. ENTERPRIZE, PUNCH, AND ADMIRAL. Every body wants a pub.!!!! My advice to ya, STAY well clear of these 3 company's. rant over.

the banks release capital to the owners related to the buildings rent so all domestic and commercial rents are sky rocketing because the more they charge rent not only is their income is greater but the building can have more money borrowed against it
