Pogmoor Teenager In Running To Go To Space
Wednesday January 30 2013
A POGMOOR teenager is in the running to win the chance to head into space.
Adam Lee Shaw, 19, is in Lynx's Space Academy competition and after being medically discharged from the army, he's keen to win this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
''It'd be a dream as I've always been interested in space,'' said Adam. ''I love learning new things, and although it'd be hard it's an amazing thing to do.''
His auntie, Vicky Whitaker, said: ''He is such an inspiration with a heart of gold. He deserves this because he proves that no matter what life throws at you, you can still achieve anything.''
