A BODY that was found in a river at Bolton-on-Dearne has been identified as a missing local man.

A spokesman said: "Officers are not treating the incident as suspicious at this stage. A post mortem examination is due to be conducted later today in a bid to identify the cause of death."

The 47-year-old had last been seen at his place of work, Spar Stores, Quarry Hill Road, Wath.

My dad remembers when John first took over the spar and built up the business, (I don't) but I know John was never too busy to stop for a chat, always a kind word for everyone. Such a sad loss, bless you and your family at this sad time, may you rest in peace and your family find comfort in knowing people thought the world of you, respected you and cared about you . x

Couldn't resist the opportunity to censor i see WAB...shame, people need to understand the nature of degenerates like that person posting in a mindless racist fashion. Like it or not, these people are among us and their views should be aired like everyone else's, even if they are crude and brain dead. I appreciate that it was done to protect John's family and friends but censorship only ever causes harm in long run. Let people make their own decisions on what they do and do not want to read and why. Comments such as those need to be seen to understand your surroundings and public opinion. Removing them only serves to mask a problem attitude. RIP John, peace.

I don't see it 'not resisting the opportunity to censor' at all Rothschild and, in fact, I think that's incredibly unfair. I see no point in promoting mindless infantile comments, nor upsetting the family for some narrow-minded troll who had too much time on his hands. WAB is a forum for debate - but we encourage our users to be responsible and will step in and remove comments when we feel it oversteps the mark. I don't see this as us being in the wrong - I see this as us being responsible. We shall have to disagree on this one as we will never, ever allow our website to be used to promote such tripe.
