A POLICE operation in Barnsley this week saw a car seized from its owner for having no insurance.

The incident - which took place on Wednesday at the bypass near Morrison's at Cortonwood - was part of a police swoop called 'Operation Takeaway.'

Many locals reported seeing a heightened police presence on the roads - a grey Peugeot 307 was seized.

Good. Unsafe, uninsured vehicles and banned drivers should be taken off the road. The police should spend more time running operations like this. I pay my vehicle tax, get my MOT and pay my insurance every year, as do most people. Why should they not pay !!!
