A WANTED man who repeatedly taunted police after being wanted in connection with a break-in and threatening behaviour has been arrested.

Police have also issued a warning to offenders who ‘think they can outrun the police’ after Osbourne continually mocked the force on social media while evading their efforts to track him down.

Jonathan Osbourne, 26, from Barnsley, had been wanted for more than three months after an incident on April 16 in which a woman’s home was broken into and the occupant threatened and intimidated.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Murphy said: “Today my officers have arrested wanted man Jonathan Osbourne. “Osbourne has been wanted for over three months and during that time has taunted officers through social media.

“I would like to take this opportunity to send a warning to offenders who think they are above the law and can outrun the police. We work 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We will find you. You can run but you can’t hide forever.

“Thank you to Barnsley officers for their efforts and determination in arresting Osbourne and a huge thank you to the public for their help.”
