Remembrance Day road closures

THIS Sunday marks 100 years of the end of World War I. Several commemoration services will be taking place across the borough and below are the road closures that will be in place:

Barnsley Town Centre: The following roads will be closed as required between 9.30am and 1.30pm. Stopping, parking or waiting on these roads will also be restricted between 6am and 5pm: Sadler Gate, May Day Green, Church Street, St Mary’s Gate, Market Hill, Cheapside, Kendray Street, Shambles Street, Eldon Street, Royal Street, Queen Street, St Mary’s Place, New Street

Darfield - Church Street will be closed between 10.30am and 12noon

Darton - Church Street will be closed between 9.30am and 9.45am and then again between 11.15am and 11.30am

Dodworth - High Street will be closed between 10.30am and 11.30amGrimethorpe - Brierley Road and St Luke’s Road will be closed between 9.30am and 11.30am

Hoyland - Kirk Balk, High Street, Southgate and West Street will be closed between 10.30am and 12noon

Mapplewell - Blacker Road will be closed between 10.30am and 11.30am

Monk Bretton - Well Lane, High Street and Cross Street will be closed between 10.45am and 11.30am

Penistone - Back Road, Schole Avenue, Park Avenue, High Street, Market Street, Shrewsbury Road, Market Place, Church Street, St Mary’s Street will be closed between 10.30am and 12.45pm

Silkstone - Martin Croft will be closed between 10.15am and 11.30am

Thurgoland - Halifax Road, Cote Lane and Smithy Hill will be closed between 10.45am and 11.15am

Wombwell - Summer Lane, George Street, High Street, Park Street and Kelvin Grove will be closed between 9.30am and 11.30am
