Should market traders be banned from selling smoking goods?

Wednesday September 19 2018

MARKET traders could be banned from selling smoking goods under new rules outlined by the council.

Barnsley Council intends to stop the sale of smoking related goods in the market when the traders move to the new Glass Works later this year.

Their objective is to improve the town’s health, encouraging healthy eating food outlets and extending its work to reduce smoking, putting tobacco use out of the sight of children, so they have no ‘role model’ to follow in future.
