FLY-TIPPING reports in Grimethorpe are being investigated by Barnsley Council’s enforcement team.
According to tasking officer Cath Fairweather, an average of four reports per day relating to waste dumped in private housing yards are being received.
She said: “There’s been significant problems but so far there’s been no evidence which could lead to a prosecution. It’s something we’re looking into.
“Usually there’s something hidden among the waste that gives us an address, but perhaps they’re getting wise.”
