MORE than 1,000 Easter eggs were donated to Barnsley Hospital and enjoyed by children, volunteers and team members.
The Barnsley Hospital Charity gave the eggs to the children’s ward, outpatients, A&E and community team.
Some of the eggs were also given to support the charity’s new volunteers group for their work over the last couple of weeks; which saw them raise more than £611 in a week through holding tombolas.
Those who donated eggs included Bannatynes Gym and Spa in Dodworth, the Gym Group on Peel Street, Bargain Booze, Dearne FM and Kier Construction.
On Easter Sunday Chloe’s Crust Trikers and Bikers visited the hospital to drop off more than 100 eggs. There was also craft activities and ‘little bags of kindness’ donated to children who couldn’t have chocolate.
These bags included pens, pencils, books, craft sets and drawing pads.
A spokeswoman from Barnsley Hospital Charity said: “Thank you to everyone who has donated. More than 3,500 children are seen by the teams each year.”
