A MAN has been arrested following an indicent at Barnsley Football Club.
He has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order offence and racially aggravated assault.
On Saturday at around 5pm, following Barnsley FC’s match against Fleetwood Town, a man was assaulted in the tunnel and left with facial injuries.
The man attended at a police station today and was arrested. He remains in police custody for questioning.
A police spokesperson said: "We would ask members of the media and the public to refrain from speculation in relation to this incident as it could potentially harm the investigation.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."
