A CAR that was coupled to a recovery truck had to be extinguished at a scrapyard this morning.
At 7.30am this morning, firefighters were called to Shaw Lane, Carlton, following reports that a car was on fire.
When they arrived they found a Citroen C3, which was coupled to a recovery truck in a scrapyard, on fire.
Crews extinguished the fire quickly, ensuring it didn’t spread to the recovery vehicle, and had dealt with the incident by 8am.
The fire is understood to have started accidentally, with the blaze originating from the engine compartment.
