A TEENAGE boy is currently in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries following a collision yesterday afternoon.

At 1.45pm yesterday afternoon, the 17-year-old was travelling along Common Road, Brierley, on a white Moto Race scooter, when he is said to have swerved to avoid another vehicle, described as a red 4x4, travelling in the opposite direction.

The scooter then hit the kerb before colliding with a parked car, causing minor damage to it.

The collision happened close to the junction of Norwood Drive.

The teenager was taken to hospital, where he currently remains in a serious but stable condition.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers want to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who saw the other vehicle, or a similar shaped vehicle.
