A CELEBRATION is set to be held in Barnsley marking the relaunch of the town centre's click and collect service.
Love Barnsley Town Centre will be relaunching ShopAppy tomorrow in the markets, with the event aiming to combat decline of the high street and encourage residents to love Barnsley Town Centre.
Footfall in the Barnsley Market was up 10 per cent in December 2018 compared with the previous year, with over a staggering 260,000 shoppers visiting the famous market over the course of the month.
ShopAppy allows customers to order shopping from independent retailers and selected market stalls online, before collecting at a dedicated pickup point in the town centre.
Jackie Mulligan, founder of ShopAppy, said: “I’m delighted to see ShopAppy relaunching in Barnsley. It’s the perfect fit for the town’s markets and independent traders and will allow people to shop locally online.
“The website is simple and easy to use, so anyone can browse and buy from local shops at any time of day and click and collect. It’s convenience with a local conscience and we like to call it ShopAppiness!”
