BARNSLEY Council’s ruling cabinet members have approved a one per cent decrease for its housing tenants which is set to come into force in April.
Based on the Government’s rent-setting policy, the final approval will be discussed at a full council meeting on February 7.
The reduction equates to an average saving of 87p per week for council house tenants.
