TRAIN strikes have been scheduled for every Saturday in January and passengers are being advised to plan their journey.
The strikes will begin at 7am on January 12, 19 and 26 and there will be no trains from 5pm.
There are NO trains running between Barnsley and Leeds or Barnsley and Huddersfield.
Northern Rail staff have been striking since August over a dispute on the role of train guards and rail safety, as Northern wants to operate driver-only services, a move which RMT argues is putting profits before safety.
David Brown, managing director at Northern, said: “We have fantastic colleagues who have supported customers by keeping our trains running on each of the RMT strike days.
“We expect all of our services, and those of other operators, to be extremely busy and are calling on our customers to plan their travel carefully for the coming weekend, check the new timetables well in advance, and make sure they do not rely on the last trains home.”
