DONATIONS are being collected for those who face the prospect of staying in hospital this Christmas.
Barnsley Hospital are now accepting gifts to be able to distribute to those in hospital over the Christmas period, to ensure that everyone has something to open on Christmas Day.
For those who would like to donate to the Children’s Ward, the hospital requests that all gifts for are delivered before December 19, so they can sort and distribute these appropriately.
The ward looks after babies, children and teenagers in the ward so all presents donated need to be unwrapped or in gift bags so that we can organise the presents into the correct age groups.
The hospital are also encouraging donations for elderly patients in hospital, who may not receive any visitors during that time.
For those who want to donate to the elderly please ensure again that presents are gifted unwrapped so hospital staff can sort the gifts out accordingly.
A small gift such as a scarf and gloves, a toiletry gift set, a jigsaw or even a blanket, are a lovely idea to cheer up elderly patients.
If you intend to bring a donation of selection boxes, do get in touch with the charity office as soon as you start your collection so we can accept and distribute these in time for Christmas and celebrate your donation.
If you would like to make a donation or give a gift to Barnsley Hospital this Christmas, please liaise with our charity team on 01226 432307.
