Barnsley’s Bright Nights which kicks off next Wednesday, followed by four-day festive extravaganza!

On Saturday December 1 the annual Christmas at the Town Hall event where Barnsley Council will be hosting a free extravaganza of festive fun for all the family.

Throughout the day you can join the elves in their Elf Workshop and take part in activities, decorate Christmas cookies and enjoying festive music and entertainment.

Running each night of the event from 5pm onwards, the light projection – which will highlight the past, present and future of Barnsley with a special Christmas twist.

At The Cooper Gallery, you'll be able to take a sneak peak into Santa's workshop and look out for artist talks, music and family activities.

At St Mary’s Church, a celestial sound cloud – a giant light and sound sculpture that interacts with singing, moving and dancing - will capture your imagination.

Down at Mandela Gardens, dazzling colours of light will dart across the walls, while the illuminating Liz West: Colour Field exhibition will be on show at The Civic.
