A COUPLE were left stunned when a luxury car turned up at their house to escort them to their wedding.
Margaret and Terry Shepherd, of Bolton-on-Dearne, have been together for over 15 years decided to get married on September 21. They booked Barnsley Town Hall for the ceremony, followed by a reception at East Dene WMC.
The couple chose not to hire a car as it wold have taken them over their budget but their colleagues at the discharge unit at Barnsley Hospital and Patient Transport put money together to escort Margaret and Terry to the ceremony and reception in a Rolls Royce as a surprise.
Margaret said: “We were totally overwhelmed and I would like to thank all the staff on discharge unit at Barnsley hospital and the patient transport services who paid for our wedding car as a wedding present to us.
“To travel in such a fabulous car was amazing and really made our day.”
