IF your dog is not yet microchipped, a free session is taking place today.

Barnsley Council has teamed up with Dogs Trust to offer a free microchipping session for dogs at Elsecar Park, Armroyd Lane today from 11am until 3pm.

The team will also offer a free basic health check including nail clipping, a check your chip service and any other advice needed.

A dog must be microchipped by law and owners who do not comply could face fines of up to £500.

Dogs will be treated on a first come first served basis with the last dog seen at 3pm.
